Question
When did the Messianic Hope begin and end?

Answer
Hi, Jennifer. Nice to hear from you.

When you say, "the Messianic Hope," are you referring to the promise of a coming Messiah? If so, it began in Genesis 3:15, with the first reference to the Messiah.

Hundreds of other prophecies are recorded throughout the Old Testament. The following link will provide further details:  http://www.clarifyingchristianity.com/m_prophecies.shtml

These prophecies were fulfilled when Jesus Christ, the "Anointed One," the Messiah, was born, lived, taught, died, arose, and ascended into heaven.

There are still future prophecies about the Messiah, and His second coming. These are found in various parts of the New Testament, especially in Revelation. These will be fulfilled in the end times, when God's final judgment is unleashed on mankind, the Millennial Kingdom is ushered in, the final judgment takes place, and God creates a new heaven and a new earth, and the final stage of His plan is unveiled in what some refer to as the eternal state.

Does this answer your question? Feel free to write back if you would like to discuss further.

By the way, do you know the Messiah, Jesus Christ, personally? Do you have a personal relationship with Him? (See John 3:1-21.)

Expertise

I have studied the Bible and Bible-related topics since the time I was very young. My education includes a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Bible, and a Master of Divinity degree. I enjoy delving into deep theological issues and always enjoy a healthy debate. But more importantly, I like working with people and helping them to find the answers that they are looking for. And I am convinced that these answers are available in the Bible.

Experience

By the grace and mercy of God, I have been saved, born again, adopted into the family of God. God has given me a love for the Bible, and for Bible-related subjects. In addition, He has blessed me with ongoing training in the Scriptures, from my youth on up. The more I learn about God through His Word, the more I want to share!
