Question
What is armageddon and the day of reckoning? Are they mentioned anywhere in the bible besides Revelation 16:16?

Answer
Patrick

Thank-you for the question.

The word Armageddon only appears once in the Bible and that is in the verse you pointed out.  It will be the field of the last battle in which the church shall be engaged in, between God and Satan He (God) will be victorious.  This battle required time to prepare for it, and therefore the further account of it is suspended till we come to the nineteenth chapter, Revelation 16:19,20.  The warning which God gives of this great and decisive trial, to engage His people to prepare for it, Revelation 16:15.  It would be sudden and unexpected, and therefore Christians should be clothed, and armed, and ready for it, that they might not be surprised and ashamed. When God's cause comes to be tried, and His battles to be fought, all His people shall be ready to stand up for His interest and be faithful and valiant in His service.

The question now becomes are you to stand up?

I can answer New Testament questions. Systematic Theology questions. Questions that deal with life in general and how we relate to God and how God relates to us. One of my strengths is making God relevant to youth. One of my favorite topics is the end times.

Experience

I am a former Baptist Pastor as well as being a former youth minister. I have studied Christianity all my life. I am a born again Christian and have been studying theology the past 30 years. I feel I can give a biblical based answer in the simplest of form, while maintain the correct theology involved in any given questions. My real skill is that I generally understand where the questions are coming from; people want to know the truth and not get into debating for the sake of debating.
