What is meant by the seven seals in the first few chapters?

The seven seals in Revelation 6-8 refer to a series of seven sets of judgment that God will unleash on the world in the last days--during the period known as The Great Tribulation.

Much of the book of Revelation is difficult to understand, primarily because it refers to future prophecy. While it may be difficult to speculate exactly what the fulfillment of these prophecies will look like, there will be no doubt at the time of their fulfillment that God is working.

It's a bit scary, as it should be. However, Christians can be assured that we will not be around to suffer God's wrath as described in Revelation (see I Thessalonians 5:9). The most important issue we can address in this life is that of finding salvation, forgiveness, and deliverance from God's judgment through Jesus Christ, who served our sentence for us (John 1:12, 3:16, Romans 10:9-10,13). Have you done this?
