QuestionG'day there, I go to Ballarat Family Church of Christ, here in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia. We heard the word this morning pertaining to Isaiah 6:1-7. In this it makes reference to Seraphs could you please shed anymore referencing to these 'Angels' or what they are. I am doing searching from PC Study Bible 5 and have mostly only gotten other translations of Isaiah. Hope you can help with just some more information on these. Thanks heaps and God Bless, Kev.
AnswerDear Kev,
Yes there is only a little written on the angels, these other sentinel beings that shadow our world and yet have a measure of their own will.
Four types of angels mentioned in the bible.. Seraphs, Cherubs, angels and arch angels. The same goes for the dark side.
Of course angels appear clothed and dressed so that we will recognize them but they neither need clothes nor have human form nor indeed have wings...though they can travel supernaturally.
They are real beings, persons with personalities. But do not have the limitations of a human body such as we have.
Only two are mentioned by name in the whole bible. They refuse worship and adoration but demand respect.
They are co workers with us in the universe.
Often referred to as sons of God as well.
They do not seek acclaim or praise in any way, whereas their counter-parts the fallen angels or demons, demand adoration and attention, needing something always. The angels do not need this having their own life force from God. They never possess anyone as they do not need this low life form, demons do .
Hope this helps...its a big subject
God bless
