Question
Hi there,
Could you tell me what Shelumiel (mentioned several times in Numbers) did?  I have found his name mentioned ONLY in Numbers, including 1:6 and 7:36.  I have pasted the definition and some information of schlemiel/shlemiel from dictionary.com below.  Thanks for your help.
Sincerely,
Carmen

Answer
The only thing I could find was an entry in a Bible dictionary: Shelumiel (she\\®-lu\\'mž-e¬l). [Heb. SheluméÆÕel, “God is my peace.” The name is attested on an ancient Hebrew seal as ShmÕl.] The prince of the tribe of Simeon early in the wilderness wanderings (Num 1:6; 2:12; 7:36, 41; 10:19).
