Bible Studies/A Summary

Question
Can you please give me a summary of John 19:26-27

Answer
Dear Davon,

Thank you for your question about John 19.26, 27:

John 19:26  When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, "Dear woman, here is your son,"
John 19:27  and to the disciple, "Here is your mother." From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.

Briefly, Jesus loved His mother and wanted to provide for her after His death. He had nothing tangible to give her, so he asked his most trusted disciple (who showed his trustworthyness by following Jesus to His trial and to the cross)—He asked him to take care of His mother and told her that she should now consider John as her son—that is her provider.

Would that we would take care of our parents as faithfully as Jesus took care of His mother.

Feel free to write me directly if you have other questions.

God bless you as you continue to study His Word. Always be ready for Jesus to come.
