QuestionWhy does the bible preach tolerance of other religions? How can we tolerate religions that kill christians (Muslims)and religions that could get people into hell (Satanism)?
AnswerHello Richard,
Well religion isa to do with philosophy and ideologies. Christianity is to do with following Jesus. The Jesus way. Christianity can be used as an ideology and people try to make it a philosophy, but really it is a walking, talking relationship with Amighty God.
Religions produce creeds, even christian religion. Salvation and eternal salavtion does not come from following creeds, but by having a good heart.
The children of light existed befoer Jesus came to the earth. (John 3) These are the elect. Those chosen by God for salvation. Anyone can have it, just get a good heart. A good heart accepts the ways of Christ. When it finds them.
The thief on the cross was first one into Paradise. Yet he was a self confessed and un baptised thief. Jesus tiold him he was saved.
So religions or secular ideologies count little to the followers of Christ who commune with God on a day by day basis. Because they know its all a waste of time. Including the Christian religion. Rituals meant by man to bring a "feel good" sensation which have very little to do with the kingdom of heaven, even though they come from the same book (at least in theory).
Now Chrisianity is a narrow road. But these religions bring culture to their followers (rightly or wrongly|) and those found within these relgions may comprise of good hearts and bad hearts, like in any niche of society. God will not loose one good hearted person. Though that person may be deprived from the life giving words of Christ on this earth. Yet he is saved by his heart, either accusing or excusing him.
We do not say that other religions are right. We do not even say that they "Christian form of religion " is right. All are wrong. Making people focuss on works instead of the gift of God.
Chrstiian religion is even worse because it says that it is based on Christ, but hypocrytically follows the dictates of men and does not even stick to the biblical laws it says that it practises. Such as with the homosexual issue.
It pretends to offer a way of salvation but instead takes away the freedom that was brought us by Christ. Galatians 3 & 5.
Hope this sheds some light on your situation
God bless
