Question
Hi,

I'm having trouble understanding the reasoning behind our involvement in the Middle East. It's interesting to me how "Conservatives," who are highly moral supposedly, can justify killing in that kind of "war." First it was "weapons of mass destruction." Then it was so they can have a "free society" and be able to vote, etc. The bottom line is we are loosing many American lives and many others are being maimed and/or psycholigically ruined. And for what? If the major resource over there was broccoli instead of oil, would we be there? What about the many other countries where atrocities are occuring that need our help more, like Sumatra. We can't help everyone all over. And the lives that are being lost are not the sons and daughters of politicians, the rich, etc. I, for one, would NEVER want my children to loose their life in that mess. The Bible mentions "thou shalt not kill." That, to me, means, no exceptions. I feel people who believe we should be there and say they are Christians are hypocrites. What is your opinion and can this kind of "war" be justified if one is truly a Christian? Thanks.

Answer
Dear DJ,

Your question deserves more discussion than we are able to engage in here, such as on the prophecies and judgments of God. Certainly, it was not an act of intelligence that got us into the quagmires we now find ourselves in, liberty and freedom are epiphenomenons, by-products, of biblical Christianity. No other religion will spawn or support them.

The commandment, "thou shalt not kill", has nothing to do with the question, it only covers murder and killing in war was not considered to be so. The penalty for which was to be killed yourself.

The USA is on its way out, we have sown the wind and are reaping the whirlwind. Our "leaders" have forsaken God's word and sold their souls to the Star Trekian one world ideology. The one world government cannot come until America falls. And seeing that the one world union is from God as part of his final judgments on earth, it is a waste of time and resources to fight against it. America has forgotten God.

Psalms 9:17  The wicked shall be turned into hell, AND ALL THE NATIONS THAT FORGET GOD.

As Christians we are simply to point out the fulfillment of these prophecies as a testimony to the truth of God's word and preach Christ crucified for forgiveness of sins. God rules in the kingdoms of men, he is safely still in charge.

I hope this helps.

The Bible contains an answer to all things necessary to life and salvation. We many times simple do not like the answer it gives. But, if your seeking the truth of God`s word, I can give my opinion and show from the Scriptures the basis for why I believe it is the correct interpretation of the Bible on most questions.
