Question
what is your view on baptism as the time when your sins are forgiven like in Acts2:38 and 1Peter3:21?

Answer
Hi Joel,

I believe that baptism is done when a person has chosen to accept Jesus Christ as their savior, and it is a public sign stating that he/she has done so. There is no scriptural support for baptizing a baby, as the requirement for baptism is for believers only.

I was baptized only after having accepted Jesus Christ as my savior and then having studied the bible passages regarding baptism. So, I knew what I was doing. And this pleases God when we obey Him with knowledge of scripture.

Again, baptism has no meaning whatsoever if your parents have you baptized as an infant or whatever. Baptism has power ONLY when it is done after you have chosen to accept Jesus Christ as your savior. And since an infant cannot make that choice, baptizing a baby is an oxymoron.

Expertise

Hello to you! I love discussing many doctrinal subjects regarding God`s rationale for creating us like he did and our value to him. Also, I enjoy discussing things from the Atheist`s perspective too. I take the view that the Bible is not inerrant, that it has errors which are easy to prove, but I also believe that much in the Bible is God`s Word to humanity.

Experience

I have spent over 30 years studying the Bible and related materials. Though I am a layman, I feel confident about my knowledge of the scriptures and welcome all points of view and will treat you with the respect you deserve.
