About Rev C.Brian Ross
Expertise
I am happy to offer answers to anyone with a question that refers to the Christian Faith in its widest possible sense. I believe that the Bible is the living Word of God, and seek to base all of my life on its teaching. I also have some knowledge of some of the cults, and of Islam and Judaism. Of course, my answers are just one man's thoughts, and I would always advise a questioner to check with others, and with the Word of God.

Experience
Served as a full-time parish minister in Scotland for about six years, and then spent the last thirty as a teacher (now 'retired') of Religious Education in Secondary Comprehensive schools (ages 11-17) while continuing my own preaching and teaching ministry. I also believe that learning is a life-time process, and have recently completed a Master's degree in Divinity.

Organizations
Former Presenter on Revival FM - a local Christian, community radio station, broadcasting in west central Scotland, and online at revival.fm Involved with a number of organisations that support Christians who are currently suffering persecution in some 70 countries around the world.

Various articles in Christian magazines. I also have two blogsites - www.crazyrev.blogspot.com and (with audio messages) www.revcbross.blogspot.com

Bible Studies - charismatic movement

Expert: Rev C.Brian Ross - 11/27/2007

Question
What was the greatest move of God ever recorded OTHER than in the Bible in Acts? I'm talking about crusades(signs, wonders and mircles for REAL)Give name of who hosted it.

Answer
Dear Catonya,
That is some question, and I approach it with some temerity!  There have been so many mighty moves of God in the history of the post-New Testament church, that it would be impossible to pick out just one and, even if I felt able to do that, it would be an entirely subjective choice with which others would undoubtedly disagree!
However, just off the top of my head, as it were, I would suggest that the Reformation, instigated by Luther, Melanchthon, and Calvin (not forgetting Calvin's disciple, John Knox, here in my native Scotland!) was a major move, taking the church (or, at least, part of it) away from the corruption of practices like indulgences that had taken over, particularly during what historians refer to as the Dark Ages.  Then there is the work of men like the Wesley brothers; Jonathan Edwards; D.L.Moody (and not forgetting Ira Sankey); Evan Roberts in Wales just 100 years ago; the two dear old ladies - both in their eighties - who had the vision for the Lewis Revival in the middle of last century; Billy Graham; some aspects of the modern charismatic movement ('though I am convinced that there has been much deception involved there, as well!); and the list could be expanded a thousand times over.
I would suggest that you do an internet search on terms like "Christian Revival". or, "Moves of the Holy Spirit", and check some of the many pages that will be produced.
Although you will find many names of many people, the bottom line is, of course, that any true move of God is "hosted" by God the Holy Spirit.
I do trust that you will have found that the above, while not providing as full an answer as you might have wanted, will have pointed you in the right direction to do some research on the subject yourself.  If you would like any further, specific, information, please feel free to ask a supplementary question.
Blessings,
C.Brian Ross (Rev)
