Hi Jay, you asked--"CAN WE SAVE OURSELVES?"

Yes, God tells us in his word the bible, how to put ourselves in line for salvation, in other words, what he requires of us, let me explain—

How You Can Find Out What God Requires

The Bible is a precious gift from God. It is like a letter from a loving father to his children. It tells us the truth about God—who he is and what he stands for. It explains how to cope with problems and how to find true happiness. The Bible alone tells us what we must do to please God.—Psalm 1:1-3; Isaiah 48:17, 18.

The Bible was written by some 40 different men over a period of 1,600 years, beginning in 1513 B.C.E. It is made up of 66 little books. Those who wrote the Bible were inspired by God. They wrote his thoughts, not their own. So God in heaven, not any human on earth, is the Author of the Bible.—2 Timothy 3:16, 17; 2 Peter 1:20, 21.

God made sure that the Bible was accurately copied and preserved. More Bibles have been printed than any other book. Not everyone will be happy to see you studying the Bible, but do not let that stop you. Your eternal future depends on your getting to know God and doing his will despite any opposition.—Matthew 5:10-12; John 17:3.

You need to learn—

1. Who the True God is.
2. Who Jesus Christ is.
3. Who the Devil is.
4. What God's purpose is for the earth.
5. What the Kingdom of God is.
6. Practices that God hates.
7. Beliefs and customs that displease God.

And so on, the bible tells us the answer to all of these questions and many more, only by studying the bible and coming to an accurate knowledge, can we put ourselves in line for salvation. "HOW TO BEAT BUDDHISM?"

Instead of dwelling on Buddhist philosophy, let me present the positive message of the Bible. Then you will know that the Bible is not mere human philosophy but the authoritative Word of mankind's Creator, Jehovah God.

Many Buddhists are keenly interested in peace and family life and want to live moral lives, and so are interested to learn that the Bible points to a righteous heavenly government over the earth as the real solution to the problems facing mankind. It explains the future of the earth and the wonderful prospect of living forever in an earthly paradise.

The Bible explains the origin of life, the meaning of life, the condition of the dead and the resurrection hope, the reason for the existence of wickedness.

The booklet "In Search of a Father" was prepared especially for the benefit of sincere Buddhists. I will happily send some at a time to read, if you like.
