Bible Studies/depression

Questioni and thanks for taking the time to read this,
I was baptised in 1989 and for a while i felt Gods spirit and purpose. But since then i have fallen away ( got involved in relationships twice) but have been back in my church for about seven years but even in that time i have struggled internet ponography and paying taxes. I have also suffered from bipolar disorder since i was very young which causes me to be very depressed for a while and then switch to elated and euphoric feelings accompanied by periods of wreckless behaviour (financial overspending etc..).
I used to feel Gods forgiveness when i repented but now i feel like my heart has become very hard and it does not respond and Satan has been accusing me for all the sins i have commited sins becoming a christian. He keeps accusing yet i don't feel God hhas forgiven me. Hebrews 6:4-6 really worries me.
i would appreciate any advice or perspective that i can't see.
Thanks in advance .
Toby
AnswerHi Toby,
The passage you are referring to is talking about people who reject Christ. God always forgives and accepts us back again if we come to Him. But if we reject Him altogether, then obviously God cannot accept him.
I would really like to know more about your walk with God and more details about your struggles. We have to understand that sin separates us from God. If you are into pornography, this is grieving the heart of God and you step out from under His hand of protection. Satan then can have his way. Partaking in sin is like rolling out the red carpet for satan to harass us. If you have porn in your home, get rid of it. If it is on your computer and you feel compelled to look at it, then you need to get rid of your computer. You also need a Godly man who can counsel you and help to keep you accountable on a daily basis.
The Bible says to submit to God, RESIST satan and he will flee. If you are willingly sinning, you are not resisting. Satan then he will start to come at you and accuse you.
God gives us the power to overcome sin. You have to do your part and get rid of all the stuff in your home that is related to sin. Then you have to learn how to combat the devil with the armour that God has given to you. You need to read Ephesians.
There are some good books that can teach you about spiritual warfare. One is Listen To Me Satan by Carlos Anacondia and another is called Spiritual Assassins by Michael Pitts. Another is called Stongman's His Name, What's His Game by Pastor Robeson.
You need to educate yourself about what the Word teaches involving spiritual warfare.
God can heal the bi-polar disorder. If you need some encouragement on healing, there are many great books out there that teach God's Word. One I would recommend is called A More Excellent Way by Pastor Henry Wright and this teaches on the spiritual roots of disease.
So, Toby, make a decision to walk the right path and CHOOSE to stop the pornography. Tell satan no and ask God to help you. Ask for his forgiveness and believe you receive when you ask. Hold on tightly to God. He is your answer...
I think you need to talk to a pastor on a weekly basis to help you. Find someone who understands spiritual warfare and biblical healing. Some pastors don't, unfortunately.
I counsel people through our counseling center and can do so over the phone or internet, so if you need my services you can go to our website at www.WalkByFaith.com.
