Question
looking to tie the sequence of eventsin order, plz confirm  jesus died on what day if it was good friday explain time referance of the three days he spent in the tomb if he arose on sunday

Answer
Since Jewish days began at sundown, Jesus died on Friday, was in the tomb on Saturday, and arose early the next day.  So, counting the two parts [Friday and Sunday] and the whole day of Saturday, the total is three days.
Also, the third day in the Old Testament has a symbolic meaning -- the third day is the day of salvation and revelation.
I hope this info helps to clarify your question.  If not, please feel free to write again.
As always, best wishes, David.
