what does the bible mean when it says:" a man's enemy will be his own household"?

Matthew 10:34-36  Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.  35  For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.  36  AND A MAN'S FOES SHALL BE THEY OF HIS OWN HOUSEHOLD.

Accepting the truth of the Bible and salvation through faith in Christ Jesus puts one at variance with all who have not. If you will walk with the Lord you will be hated even of those of your own family as you will be condemning them just by you doing right. Just because they are your family in the flesh does not mean they have any desire toward God.

Choose to walk with the Lord even if your family throws you out as is done in many cultures and religions. I did and many of my family eventually came to trust in Christ.
