Friend,
From what you are telling us here. "I would not play this if Christ were here".. I feel like the other brother in that this is a form of condemnation, a method used by the Holy Ghost to work our consience to our spiritual benefit. Ultimately Christ is here, he is present during all of our daily activities, knowing even the intents of every heart. The Word of God says to be Christlike and Holy as we possibly can "1Pe 1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy." and also to lay aside every weight and sin in Hebrews 12:1. The Word of God also instructs us that something does not actually have to be wrong or bad, just if it just looks bad, if it shows the appearance whether by sight or sound then it is likewise bad. "1Th 5:22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.
23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. " Friend I am merely giving you some scriptures to backup what the Holy Ghost is already dealing with you about. Never worry about this, you must have a pure heart because it is only the pure in heart that the Lord can teach these things to, those that have an open mind dedicated entirely to Him can learn of the close things of God. Years ago I gave up all secular music and I stand firm against Christian Rock. Secular music promotes sex, drugs, adultery, fornication, suicide, drinking, spiritual deadness or idleness, worship of other Gods, anger, jeoulsy, strife, many many works of this present world can be found in this. I chose to listen to that that only glorified God, for in the Word of God we read of many musicians and many songs, never one did we hear a song about how "he left her on a friday night" or "tear in my beer".. we only read of songs that Glorify and lift up the Most high God. Since I beleive that is our purpose of being alive, is to honor and glorify Him.. Not to glorify the present world, but God. So Friend I beleive that God is simply taking a pure heart and leading it to a closer walk with Him, let him lead you, follow the Spirit and you will see the joy in it. May God Bless you friend.
