Question
I would like to know about Jesus testimony on John Chapt 6 when he describes himself as "The Bread of Life." Was this speech given during the feast of the tabernacles or just prior to it. Did his speech have anything to do with the feast?

Answer
There is no indication that the events described in John 6 took place during a festival.  Had it been one of the "high holy days," Jesus would have been in Jerusalem, not Galilee.  Moreover, John 7:2 says that "the Jews' feast of tabernacles was at hand."  Though he did not accompany his disciples to the feast, he went there secretly and ended up preaching in the temple as was his custom (John 7:14ff).
