Bible Studies/The final judgement
Expert: Rev. Frank Ricketts - 7/7/2007
QuestionThe bible says that in the final judgement our sins will be exposed for all to see and we will be punished accordingly. If we as a believer are in heaven it seems contridictory because I thought through Christ our sins were washed clean under the blood. That they were erased as far as the east from the west. My husband is a former addict and is very discouraged by the thought.
AnswerWhen you have been baptized in the name of Jesus Christ (not Father, Son, and Holy Ghost) for the remission of your sins, your sins are forgiven up to that point. When you receive the Holy Ghost (by the evidence of speaking in tongues), the Holy Ghost directs you to repent over daily sins that may keep you out of Heaven.
Remember the verse:
1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
Advocate meaning: one that defends. So Jesus Christ defends us, but only if we repent over any sins that we commit everyday. No repentance – no entrance.
The church still has a judgment, but that judgment is how we live now and that judgment results in the church taking part in the marriage supper of the Lamb. (Jesus). The world that does not repent, is not baptized in Jesus name, and does not receive the Holy Ghost is judged at the last judgment. Remember a court of law – guilty and not guilty.
I pray that this helps.
