Question
I have some friends who don't believe in what they call "two works" or I guess sometimes called justified and sanctified and I don't know what it means so I would like to know if you can explain "two works" that people use to that belief with scriptures.
                thanks,

Answer
Dear Craig,

This is theology and debatable in many quarters of the church.

Justified means that we are now forgiven for our sin nature and therefore stand before God as if without a sin nature.

Sanctified means being made holy on a continuous basis. This is a process as every new sin requires a remedy..a forgiveness.

The books of Romans and Galatians show us this clearly.

The old testament need for different sacrifices showed also the need for a yearly Lamb of God for justification for our sin nature and then doves and other sacrifices done for the actual sin that we commit.

This , is a type of sanctification..  The bible tells us in the New Testament that we are being made holy through the Holy Spirit within. So this is a process.Hebrews 10:14
