Bible Studies/Your profile and recovery

QuestionYour profile inticed me! As the director of a alcohol/drug long-term residential program in Florida, I would love to pick your brain for input! How do you understand 12-step spirituality as it relates to the stages of the Christian life, or do you?
AnswerI am going to direct you to someone that uses a program called A.C.T.S.
You may contact them at office@newlifeupc.org
Their phone number is 512.832.5433
New Life offers an alcohol and drug education program (ACTS, Alcohol Chemical Treatment Series) for those who are seeking deliverance from alcohol and drug addiction and for those who want a community of support to help them maintain their freedom. ACTS is approved by the State of Texas as an alternative to AA for probation and parole requirements.
ACTS is a curriculum-based, twelve-week program that offers a holistic approach to recovery from substance abuse that encompasses the emotional, physical, and spiritual aspects of an individual. Each lesson contains educational information that covers the physical, psychological, and emotional changes associated with alcohol or chemical abuses. Our goal is to give information and tools to each participant that can immediately be applied to his or her own life.
We believe that God heals in many ways—at times instantaneously—but often over a period of time. We are thankful that we have seen God’s healing hand in our 12-week classes. We are even more grateful that, as we have been been delivered, God has then used us to help others.
We do not have a drug program right now, but they use the same one we were using.
God bless.
