Question
Ezek 29:10 NRSV) therefore, I am against you, and against your channels, and I will make the land of Egypt an utter waste and desolation, from Migdol to Syene, as far as the border of Ethiopia.

(Ezek 29:11 NRSV) No human foot shall pass through it, and no animal foot shall pass through it; it shall be uninhabited forty years.

(Ezek 29:12 NRSV) I will make the land of Egypt a desolation among desolated countries; and her cities shall be a desolation forty years among cities that are laid waste. I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and disperse them among the countries.

(Ezek 30:10 NRSV) Thus says the Lord GOD: I will put an end to the hordes of Egypt, by the hand of King Nebuchadrezzar of Babylon.

(Ezek 30:11 NRSV) He and his people with him, the most terrible of the nations, shall be brought in to destroy the land; and they shall draw their swords against Egypt, and fill the
land with the slain.

numbers and names seem are very signifigant throughout the bible, these particular events Ezekiel foretold were not even close......................................................................................Ezekiel predicted Babylon would conquer Egypt and was wrong.

Ezekiel predicts that Nebuchadrezzar of Babylon will conquer Egypt utterly destroying it, slaying and scattering it’s people, and that it will stay uninhabited for 40 years.

In 568 BCE Nebuchadrezzar tried to conquer Egypt and Egypt survived with no apparent damage.

Aahmes ruled for another generation over a prosperous Egypt and lived to see Nebuchadrezzar die. No Egyptians were scattered or dispersed.

Im struggling bigtime with my faith, and the more I look, the more problems I find....What bothers me more than the numerous failed<false> prophecies,is that the church,at least the one I attended, never adresses these. They choose to skip them, ignore them, and move on to the same ol' ones time after time....and then I find even some of those problematic...i.e. Jesus supposed to be born in  Bethlehem,a village,...yet Micah 5:2 states that Bethlehem EPHRATAP ,is not a town, but an INDIVIDUAL of a CLAN that isnot even located in the town of Bethlehem....???????? thnx for your time...Chris

Answer
God’s word is true from the beginning (Ps.119:160), therefore I believe the Scriptures, as they are written. We may not, at any given moment, understand the deeper things of God, but that does not mean the Scriptures are not true.   We just haven’t been given the understanding at that point in time.

I believe the prophecy of Ezekiel 29:10-11 is yet to be fulfilled.  I believe it is an end-time prophecy.

As regards Eze.30:10-11 – Those Scriptures say that the land will be filled with the slain.  Those Scriptures do not say that Egypt will be utterly wasted and made desolate and not inhabited forty years.

As regards Bethlehem – Luke 2:4, Luke 2:15 and John 7:42 below, the Scriptures say Bethlehem is a city/town.

Eze.29:10      Behold, therefore I [am] against thee, and against thy rivers, and I will make the land of Egypt utterly waste [and] desolate, from the tower of Syene even unto the border of Ethiopia.

Eze.29:11     No foot of man shall pass through it, nor foot of beast shall pass through it, neither shall it be inhabited forty years.

Eze.29:12    And I will make the land of Egypt desolate in the midst of the countries [that are] desolate, and her cities among the cities [that are] laid waste shall be desolate forty years: and I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries.

Eze.30:10  Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will also make the multitude of Egypt to cease by the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon.

Eze.30:11 He and his people with him, the terrible of the nations, shall be brought to destroy the land: and they shall draw their swords against Egypt, and fill the land with the slain.

Bethlehem

Lk.2:4    And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)

Lk.2:15    And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.

Jn.7:42    Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?
