Questionwhat does the bible teach about racism?
AnswerDear Zaira,
What does the Bible teach concerning Racism?
An excellent question, the short answer being very easy. As in anything there are two guiding precepts of life.
Matthew 22:37-40 Jesus said unto him, THOU SHALT LOVE THE LORD THY GOD WITH ALL THY HEART, AND WITH ALL THY SOUL, AND WITH ALL THY MIND. (38) This is the first and great commandment. (39) And the second is like unto it, THOU SHALT LOVE THY NEIGHBOUR AS THYSELF. (40) On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
Love God, love others as thyself. If, in general, one acts toward others as he would like to be treated one cannot do harm to others. I say in general as even this needs to be studied and understood correct. There are times when individuals and societies have to defend themselves against criminal elements.
However, this is not a complete answer to the question. God created all things which leads us to conclude that he also created the races. Technically, there are but three races, the divisions within this is ethnicity, which is just another term for family traits.
There is no doubt that we all ought to be able to live together in peace, but we also have no liberty from God to destroy the divisions he has created.
Acts 17:26-27 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, AND HATH DETERMINED THE TIMES BEFORE APPOINTED, AND THE BOUNDS OF THEIR HABITATION; (27) That they should SEEK THE LORD, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:
"Good fences make good neighbors", is a wise admonition. No good thing has ever come of interracial marriage. Societies have never become more righteous, holy or godly or raised the level of civilisation by practising it. More importantly, I know of no advantage it has given to the preaching of the gospel of Christ. "By there fruits you shell know them."
I do not recommend interracial marriage between any of the races; white/black, white/yellow, black/yellow, etc.
This is just one man's opinion of what the correct understanding of God's word is. I hope it helps you in your quest to understand God's word.
