Question
What purpose does the story of Elijah, Micaiah, or Elisha serve?

Answer
If your question was more specific, I could probably give you a better answer.

Anyway, the stories of these three gentlemen demonstrate several things:  the power of God, His justice, and His concern for the nation of Istrael despite the fact that it had fallen away from Him all come to mind.  In addition, each of these prophets prepare the Jewish peoples expectations of what the Christ would be by presenting holy men who received wisdom directly from God and who performed miracles and made prophecies that validated their status.

I hope this helps,

Phillip

Expertise

I can provide Bible based answers about Christian beliefs and doctrines, and discuss practical ways of applying these to real life situations. On the other hand, I`m the wrong person to ask questions that pertain to "end times" prophesies or that require textural criticism of the Bible in the original languages. :)

Experience

I teach Sunday school at my local church and have some experience with volunteer prison ministries.
