hello. i have a question regarding the history of the bible. i've heard and read that people have actually turned down scriptures and such to add to the bible because they didn't feel it was relivent and that they didn't truely believe some of the thngs that some of the authors [i suppose you could say] wrote.

for example, i've read that mary magdalen was actually an apostle of jesus and even wrote a gospel, but because of the scholars who wanted men to look superior, they denied her scriptures into the bible simply because of that reason - she was a woman. as for another example, i have read that they had cut parts of the gospel of matthew, concerning a detailed discription of mary's life and her conception of jesus, because they felt that they were not important details.

I was wondering what I was reading is indeeed true. And, who decides what books go into the bible and what must be left behind - simply why do they decide on this? shouldn't every word of god be read?

Dear Therese,

Your question involves much more than I can cover in this format. The Bible has been the center of controversy since its inception, they even debated Moses on what God said. The entire object of Satan and all those who desire to be rid of God is to destroy his word. The serpent in the garden's whole line of attach was to get Eve to question what God said.

    Yea, hath God said..???

All I can do at this point is assure you that God is in control of preserving his word and he has done so in the Authorized Version of 1611, King James Bible. I would be glad to discuss the issue with you by e-mail as it would take much time and many post to cover. I hope to have my web site up this week end and I have some information on this there. (www.aficj.org) The internet is replete with articles and debates on the subject, most not worth reading. Remember, the world hates God, so it hates his word and the only object of the worlds hatred is the AV 1611. Proof enough of its genuineness.
