Bichon Frise/Bichon pooping 4+ times day

Question
We have just acquired a 6 year old Bichon.  She is a sweetheart and came from a good home but quite timid.  She is pooping 4 times a day and some of them in the house.  Is it unusual to need to poop that often?  Could some of this be part of the transition?

You are what you eat, remember that adage from old...
I would give her a raw chicken wing once every two days, reduce her food, she is on a high food intake diet by the sounds of it, I would think she is a bit fat too .
She only needs to be fed 1 meal daily at her age, NO tidbits, plenty fresh water, transition not likely too much food very likely.
