Question
What should I do if my dog has small black spots on his legs (ankle)? He sometimes licks them, but what should I give him to treat? Can you tell me the name of the medicine needed cause the vets in THailand (where I live) don't know anything.
Please answer me as soon as you can!

hello this can be a number of problems so we shall start with the easiest, FIRST treat your dog with a good flea treatment, some bichons do react to frontline so try a different one like bob martin spot on. Even if you dont see fleas this is a possibility.
Secondly  as the dog is licking the are this suggests itchyness so buy a good oatmeal and aloe vera shampoo and wash the dog , or even buy polytar shampoo or bathe the dog in oilatum , all of these can be bought from local chemists even in Thailand.
Now we treat as I would with his diet, I think this is likely to be allergy related, so take him off all commercial food and start him on a raw food diet, this needs to be done over a period of several weeks not days.
My dogs are fed on raw chicken wings, vegetables like green beans, cucumber, tomatoes, cooked mashed potatoes, apple, pear, banana, raw lamb kidney, occasionally lambs liver, salmon (cooked)not tinned. White fish, occasionally cooked prawns, cheese, eggs, raw stewing lamb, oxtail, oatmeal ground, goats cheese, goats milk live yoghurt, NEVER GIVE COOKED BONES THEY SPLINTER.
To stop the immediate itching use 1/2 tablet benadryl once every 4 days for 2 weeks then stop.
If you follow these instructions you will see a real difference within 2 weeks.
