Bichon Frise/Separation Anxiety

Question
We recently adopted a 3 year old Bichon Frise.  He wants to be with us every minute.  How do we keep him from having separation anxiety when we need to leave for a few hours.  Is it best to put him in a small room, or give him the run of the house.  He has not shown any destructive behavior so far, but we have only had himn a week.  We have also wondered about getting one of the crates for when we are gone a short time.

Answer
He needs to be crate trained (please read the info on my site www.eurobichons.com)

This will take some time as you wont fully know his background.
CRATES SAVES DOGS LIVES. Its as simple as that !

Go for a few mins daily and build up up two hours, Bichons should not be left for more than 3 hours in any 24 hour period as they are human interactive .
