My 8 week old Bichon goes potty every time I put her in the crate.  I've tried putting her food there using potty pads, and everything. She hardly ever goes on the floor and she will go outside, but once you put her in the crate she screams poops and pees nonstop

I am rather saddened to read at just 8 weeks she is her new home, in reality she should NOT be yet away from her mother.
I am hardly surprised she does this as she needs to be taught this.
You need a strict yet sensible approach to potty training for this to be a success, may I suggest that you go to my site www.eurobichons.com and open the info there , its far too long to post here.

trust me this is easy if you follow the rules carefully and have some patience.

If you had bothered to look on the site you will have noticed I gave the answer to this on many occasions, I find your attitude appalling not only here but to the life of that puppy, it is no excuse to say I knew she shouldnt be away from mum so early, YOU took her, it would have been far more beneficial to wait and tell her breeder how wrong it was to do such a stupid thing.Sometimes in life we must wait for our possessions.

RESEARCH before buying of any animal is important, clearly you have not read anything, which can place any animal in some danger.
Now if you want the answer to your predicament please read them on this site, I have answered this question in full at least 10 times.

I have far too much to do with rescuing animals  from owners that decided on impulse they wanted the pet, this time of year is very busy for me and yes I have rehomed many dogs in just this week who couldnt wait for their pups either.


2008-11-29  potty training:  any pup at this age has a small bladder and will have a few accidents, the problem will get better in time as she grows. the trick with a bichon in particular is be patient, DONT shout and simply show...look for this answwer
