Question
I just god a 10 weeks bichon, he is etching and biting him on his back legs.  What can I do to stop it ???  I was told by popshop he dose not have Fleas.

Answer
Hi Gina
my first point would be to have him treated for fleas, using Bob Martin Spot on for puppies, At the same time I would also worm him using Bob Martin Puppy all in one worm tablet or Panacur at 10% for his weight.Flea poo is tiny black dots look for it on his skin.
I would refrain from using anything stronger on a Bichon due to allergy problems.
Now once that is done I would take a look at his food, and place him on a raw food diet, buy some fresh fruit such as apple, pear, banana, use mashed pots, cheese, eggs, butter, goats milk, goats cheese, raw lamb bones, bonemeal, green beans, brocolli, toms, cucumber, Tuna (fresh is better for omegas-tinned has none)
Coked salmon, white fish, prawns, cooked pork, minced lamb, minced turkey, I would also use a good quality puppy formula for 6 months like whelpi, skinners this ensures that little boy gets all the vits and minerals he needs.Soem breeders believe that Bichons cant have beef that isnt true, ours have sirloin steak and have no problems at all, many are allergic to casein but most havent even heard of it.Use Pork in place of chicken its far better.

Dont use any scented shampo or grooming item until he is over 6 months, they simply overload  the immune system.

Within 2 months I suspect billybichon will be TOP of his class.
