Question
Hi we have just taken ownership of an 8 year old bischon friese from a resue center he has one or two problems the worst being a lot of bald patches do you think his fur will regrow with the proper care food etc?

Firstly I would want to know why he is bald, there are a few immune related conditions that can cause this, but also mange, mites and atopy can also be the culprit.
I would suggest that you have his blood panels done to rule out thyroid problems, cushings, addisons and a few others. If they all come back ok then screen for mites and mange. If clear then an allergy is likely , therefore with a good raw diet he should be fine and the coat will grow back.Hot spots are easy to see they will be crusty and the dog will scratch at them and be licking too.
Stress can also cause this but somehow I feel this may not be the reason.
