Question
how often can i bath a bichon frise? i was told 2-3 weeks or else he can get dry skin if you bath him too often.

Answer
Dogs produce a substance called sebum which effectively makes the coat waterproof well showerproof , when you keep bathing dogs, the sebum is washed away and that will encourage drying of the skin, brittle coats, and also itching.
Depending upon lifestyle I wouldnt recommend bathing more than 1 per month.I also do not encourage the use of any scented shampoo when bathing your dog, it is designed to make the dog smell nice for you not him her or other dogs,show grooming sprays are also not to be encouraged and in fact encourage skin problems .
