Subject: 7 year old Bichon female, peeing in the house

Question
We have had our Bichon since she was a puppy and she is now 7. She used to be extremely good through the night and not have to go out until very early the next morning. Unfortunately, lately, she is not making it through the night and nothing has really changed. We take her water up at 8pm and take her outside right before bed, around 11pm. For several nights in a row, she was going into another part of the house and peeing and/or pooping. We now keep her confined to our bedroom where she will not pee or poop, but will whine until one of us wakes up to let her out, usually between 3am and 4am. I'm just so confused by this sudden change since she has been so well trained for the past several years. Any advice??

Answer
This sounds to me more like a medical problem than a psychological one as such I stress , get her to your vet, If she is spayed it may be just spay incontinence but there are a few other conditions that this can be a symptom of, as the vet to do a complete blood panel on her.

Good luck
