Question
After 3 1/2 years my Bichon seems to be developing separation anxiety.   From the time he was a puppy, I've worked all day and left him at home.   It's never seemed to bother him until now.   Recently he has been hiding in the laundry tub, a clothes basket or in a corner when he knows its time for me to go to work.  He has also experienced a couple of mild seizures in the past few months.   The vet did blood work and says everything is OK with him physically.    Any information you can give me on separation anxiety would be appreciated.

Answer
Hi jo
The seizures can be a result of amny diffrent issues even stress. I would put on a radio channel for him when you get ready for work, how many hours is he left ?
It does give me some conce that he is hiding in darker places after having seizures, these are signs of petit mal seizures and I would ask if the vet checked these within his bloods.
Bichons do suffer from epilepsy, just a thought ....
