QUESTION: my bichon frise is 12 weeks old and we got her 2 weeks ago. she was fine until 2day. she has puked 3 times and wont eat or drink. what should i do?

ANSWER: give her just water, has she been wormed, would need more info on what is making her sick such as her food etc, were did you get her from as this is often an indication on how well she was reared.

QUESTION: ya she has been wormed a few days ago. she puked 4 times 2day there wa sher nuts in all of them we are feedin her Royal Canine. we got her from a woman in doneraile in north cork she was cared 4 very well there and the woman often rings 2 check up on her. we tried giving her water she backes away from the bowl we are getting very concerned her form isnt as usual she squeals and cries alot 4 no reason is there anything else we can do?

ANSWER: What worming tabs did you give her, as some bichons react BADLY to some worm meds, if she has stomach pain I would get her to a vet for treatment, bob martin is what we recommend until they are 12 months of age. Or Panacur liquid at 2.5 %

Try Goats milk
oatmeal Ready brek mixed with the goats milk
scrambled eggs

give her water

Hi YES
Many bichons react badly to what vets give them for worming, I did issue a health wanrning on my global site for all owners to inform their new mums and dads. The vet wormer is far too strong and causes vomiting, diarrhea and gastric irritation.
SHE MUST HAVE FLUIDS , give via a baby bottle if necessary.
try get soft foods into her spoon feed her. I do think she may now need antibiotics . In the meantime , keep her warm and every two hours give her a drink via baby bottle or she will get dehydrated.
Goats milk will line her sore tummy, give her goats milk yoghurt.
Buy some puppy formula and give it to her.
mix some egg yolk with the ready brek and goats milk .
please read what is on my site it may STOP this happening again.

Fibre diet tablets from holland and barratt are excellent as they will cleanse her colon and remove the irritation.

If she still does not drnk get her to a vet asap.
