Question
QUESTION: My 7 mth old Bichon Frise scratches excessively only in mornings when he wakes up.  He has no fleas and is on dry "Hills Science Plan" chicken for puppies.  He also get boiled chicken with some potato and gravy once a day in evenings.  He really doesn't scratch that much during the day only first thing in morning?

ANSWER: ensure he has access to water first thing in the am, also try natural filtered water.

This could be an intolerance to the food so slowly introduce items such as duck, poached salmon and NO GRAVY.

Ground oatmeal is an excellent food for dogs .

QUESTION: Thank you so much for your response.  Will certainly introduce these things into his diet.  Any suggestions as to how to moisten his meal without using gravy?

Answer
Salmon oil or duck fat are excellent to moisten the food.
But what is far more important is a continued source of water, foods like cucmber, apple, pear, deseeded tomatoes, yellow peppers, berries like raspberry, strawberry, blueberry (NO GRAPES EVER)

If you look on my site we have listed all the foods we use from 3 weeks to now. None ever itch, or have allergies .
