Bichon Frise/Puppy Fur

Our Bichon puppy is 10 weeks old. His fur is all white except he has apricot on his ears and around his eyes. His fur is long and silky and a little wavy. Our vet doesn't think he's a bichon because his fur isn't curly like a poodles. Will his fur get curly when he gets older? I saw the mother & father and they looked like Bichons to me. Is this normal? When should his fur change?
At such a young age his coat will be sraight NOT curly, many people confuse Bichons with poodles. Apricot in copat is fine up until 18 months and even that at 10% is fine even for showing.
His coat will change after his first cut at 16 weeks so dont worry.
Tell your vet he really is an idiot!
