Bichon Frise - Odor from Bichons

Expert: Kaza - 2/23/2009

Question
My 2 and 1 year old bichons have suddenly started to emit a foul odor at their rectum. I have had their glands checked by the Vet and neither has a lot of fluid in them. I have changed their diet from Science Diet small bites to Wellness Core over the past 3 weeks.  The odor comes and goes. Some days it's not there at all. They are groomed every 4 weeks and contstantly kept clean.  I also use Angel Eyes for their tear stains. Any suggestions please.

Answer
Hi there
suggesta  change in the diet to a meat based one to supplement the dried food as Bichons shouldnt really have a full dried diet.
I would give them a product that we make which makes the anal glands work more efficiently thus reduce and stink.
contact www.bichonhotel.co.uk  ask for scoot its specifically made to encourage the glands to work effectively and its 100% natural, it is seeing a huige reduction in anal gland problems that have previously been dealt with by vets.
