My Bichon Frise, Bear, is somewhere between 1-2 years old and he licks everything. He licks spots on the carpet, my pants, my legs, and feet. I can hardly pet him with out him licking my hands. I love my dog but HATE the nonstop licking. What can I do? PLEASE HELP!

aw this is normal for all young dogs not just this breed. Now how to stop it (eventhough it makes me smile )
BTW tell Bear I think he is gorgeous for showing this affection.

When he does it , immediately stop and say NO Bear STOP. then simply move away.

This needs to be repeated each time, please dont punish him for being a loving dog, offer him a treat to avert this behaviour. I know some dogs wouldnt wish to interact with their owners in this way and that is so sad, dogs and humans NEED to interact and this is doggy/human communication 100% you should be so flattered.

They do grow out of it so be calm , consistent and simply enjoy this little one, trust me if he is doing this HE LOVES YOU very much.
