Bichon Frise/HOW MUCH TO FEED A BICHON

Question
I have a 3 yr old Bichon that was rehomed to us.  A family member says to feed her 1/2 cup of dry dog food each morning (every 24 hrs). This doesn't seem to be enough in my eyes, I would feed her that twice a day morning and dinnertime.  Please help, thanks.

Feeding is always based on the individual foods being given , if using a commercial diet you MUST stick with what it recommends on the back, although personally I would not recommend a dry diet for bichons.
At 3 she should be on one meal per day averaging about 170g anymore will increase her weight.She can snack on carrot batons, cucumber and apple slices instead of fat laden commercial treats we see in the shops.
