Bichon Frise/Stiffness and shaking

Question
My Bichon Frise is about 3 1/2 years old and he recently has been very stiff and is unable to jump on the couch or climb up steps without difficulty. He is also shaking and twitching quite a bit. He eventually stops shaking once he goes to sleep. He's had the stiffness once or twice before but it's always gone away after about a day. This time it has lasted for 2 or 3 days now. Is this common in this breed or is something wrong?

Answer
Hi firstly sorry for the delay I have had computer issues, I would take to the vet this is common in these white dogs and could be a number of problems, so they will likely consider epilepsy, shaker syndrome, diabetes, and bone disorders , they should run a full blood panel.
good luck
