Hello; I have a 10 month Bichon that lately has developed a habit of chewing on his paw , he pulls the hair off the top of his leg almost on a daily basis. We had him checked foor allergies but turned out negative , any ideas as to how prevent this from happening??? there is a small "bald" spot now on his leg from all of this.
Hi there it sounds like a hot spot which is either associated with flea allergy or acral lick dermatitis. I would give him fatty acid and omega 3,6,9 and bathe him in oatmeal shampoo , Dont use any scented grooming items and introduce him to a raw food diet , With oatmeal .All of thee combined should do the trick. Check for fleas and treat if necessary.
