Bichon Frise - Natural Diet

Expert: Breeder - 12/17/2006

Question
I've read some of your answers to other questions about diet, but wanted to know what you meant by "a natural diet."  Do you mean raw, or partially raw food?  From your experience, is all commercial dog food "garbage." I've  fed my Bichon some raw venison packed frozen by Nature's Variety.  (They also make a kibble that I feed him.) It doesn't contain corn, wheat, etc. Do you feed your dogs a raw diet?  Thanks.

Answer
Yes I have fed raw for 8 years.  Raw is also knows as BARF which stands for Bones and raw food. There are a lots of books on the subject and on info on the internet.  The books I like the best and I attended her seminar is by Kymberly Schultz.  It's called "The Ultimate Diet" you can get it on Amazon.com
