Bichon Frise/Spaying

Question
I took my 6 month old puppy, lil Missy, in for a routine spaying.  When I went to pick her up that day what I got was the biggest shock of my life.  My puppy could not walk, move, raise her head.  It was like she was a vegetable.  All she was doing was barking uncontrollably.  The vet let that behavior go on for hours until I got there.  He did say she had stopped breathing for a couple of minutes after the surgery.  After a couple of days, I finally put her down to end the misery.  I have just never heard of anything like this before and I was wondering if you had?

Answer
I always recommend going to a vet clinic where they do spay/neuter all day long.  That is all they do.  So they are experts at it.

I have never heard of the experience you are describing.
I have heard of dogs dying on the table becuase of incorrect anaestia administered.  How horrible.  This does not sound like a reputable vet to let a animal go home this that condition.
