Bichon Frise/aggression

Question
I have two female Bichons from the same litter. They get along lovely. One Bichon injured her back when she was tiny and had pain killers because she was snappy with my daughter who is 8 years old. She has been fine for 6 months now but has just started to snap at the other dog and yesterday bit my 10 year old son on the face while he was stroking her. He was not being rough in any way as I was watching him at the time. We are now worried as to why she acted this way, the vet has seen her and she appears ok, she advised us to keep her away from children which is impossible unless she is locked up all day , which is also not right for her. What do you think I should do, other than that she is pretty much well behaved but more of the dominant dog.

Answer
This is not typical bichon behavior.  If she bites a child in your care you will be liable.  These days parents sue.

Agression is usually related to poor breeding.  You cannot place her without telling the adopting party.  Resuce groups will not place dogs that bite they will be sued.

Little choice is available for dogs that bite.
