Bichon Frise - aggressive Bichon

Expert: Breeder - 7/19/2006

Question
We have a six-year old Bichon who is very aggressive toward certain people.  He will without warning jump up on children and/or adults and growl, show is teeth and bark in a manner that appears he is going to bite them.  This happens when he is unprovoked and while it happens in our home and yard it also happens on walks in the neighborhood.  What can we do to train him to stop this aggressive, scary behavior?

Answer
This is not a bichon from a reputable breeder.  I get more of these issues.  It's entirely related to backyard or puppymill dogs.

I would crate this dog areound stranges and especially children.  If the dog bits you will probably be sued.

I do not believe you can do any training to stop this behavior.  But speak to a reputable animal trainer.
