Bichon Frise - my bichon is causing major problems

Expert: Breeder - 12/12/2006

Question
I have had my bichon since he was 7 weeks old. He is now 16 mos.old. He is always pooping on our floor, and peeing in the worst places!!One week he peed on my son's bookbag with all his school work in it, he pee's on our beds, and we have even caught him standing in the middle of our kitchen table! It is to the point that every one in the house is starting to seriously dislike him. My husband is completely turned off of our dog now, he wants me to get rid of him, because he is becoming such a nuisance. I keep plenty of toys for him and chewys and treats, plus, he is never alone, there is always someone here. Please, tell me what to do, for I am very desperate.

Answer
The dog is dysfuctional.  Probably because he was taken form Mother and sybllings at too early an age.  Reputable breeder do no place before 12 weeks of age.  If you bough your dog from a pet store, they get all their dogs from puppy mills, then he was taken from mother probably at 5 weeks and skipped across coutry.  This can easily make the dog dysfucitonal.
You may never get this corrected.  So crate train him.
unless you can watch him he should have limited access in the house or he is crated.
