Bicycle Repair/Designing an enclosed chain case

Question
Hi Dave, Can you help with design ideas for an enclosed chain case for a single speed GT Peace 9r. The chain case would be to keep mud off my chain, sprocket and chainwheel. Thanks

Answer
Hello Johann. First of all, sorry for the untimeliness of this response. I was caught up in personal problems.
Designing an enclosed chain to keep mud off would be tough. Mud likes to get anywhere that there is an opening.

Besides trying to enclose the chain, all you really have to do is remove the chain, blast it with a water hose, reattach the chain and lube it.

As far as custom fabrication of the bike itself, that is out of my knowledge area. Sorry I couldn't help you with this question and for the wait. If your having any more problems with you bike let me know.

Expertise

I can answer questions on all issues you may have encountered with your bicycle. Some things are hard to explain without visually seeing or riding the bicycle such as vague 'clanking' noises.

Experience

I was my neighborhood mechanic as an early teenager. I have also worked in a bicycle repair shop for about a year and a half.
