Bicycle Repair/Need Parts

QuestionQUESTION: Having difficult time locating part.
I need to replace the broken plastic derailer on the front sprocket for an womans 18 speed Magna Great Divide. What additional information do you need to point me in the right direction, and where can I get the part?
ANSWER: You do not need the exact same derailleur as the one that was previously on there. If you don't mind about the make and model of the derailleur, then the only thing that you need to worry about is what type of front derailleur and speed you need. Whether it would be a top pull or bottom pull, and you would need one for a triple chainring. You can get these at any online bike shops, or your local bike shop. If you have any further questions, please ask.

QUESTION: Hey Steve,
Thanks for the response. But in reading your response I recognize I'm using the wrong terminology. What I need to replace is the broken plastic ring that screws to the outside of the largest front sprocket to keep the chain from coming off of the front sprockets in the event the gear selector is pushed too far.
AnswerThis plastic piece that is between the cassette - the group of cogs on the rear wheel, is called a spoke protector. This can be purchased at your local bike shop or from an online bicycle retailer. If you have any further questions, please ask.
