Bicycle Repair/Huffy Bicycle with a shifter problem

I have a Huffy Hermosa Beach Pro Bicycle with a shifter problem.

It is a 6 speed Soleus twist type, part of the handlebar which keeps jumping to sixth gear.  Is this fixable and how?  I don't
see how to get it apart.

More than likely, the plastic ratchet "teeth" on the shift twister have rounded off. However, even changing the cable on entry-level twist shifters  may require consulting a psychic; there is little in the way of manufacturer service/support with respect to internal parts, and even less likelihood of any "repair" requiring less than many hours of your time.
A complete set of new shifters, with cables, should only cost about $20, and can be swapped in less than 30 minutes at your local bike shop.

I can answer most inquiries with respect to bicycle assembly, repair, tuning and maintenance. I am less than inclined to speak on such questions as "What kind of bike should I buy?", &/or "What is this bike worth?", etc. Any answers to these types of questions may correlate poorly to an acceptable "fact/sarcasm" ratio.
