Question
hi im jut trying to remove my cranks from my pit bike as the crank has snapped and i want to replace them. but im not sure what to undo or twist to get them off. they wont budge.how do u get them off!? any tips?

Answer
Are the cranks 1 piece or 3 piece? The 3 piece cranks have a nut/bolt holding the crank onto the bottom bracket, to whereas the once piece doesn't have these. To remove the 3 piece cranks, remove the nuts or bolts holding the cankers on. If this is the nut, its a 14mm nut, the bolt is a 6mm hex. then insert the Crankarm Extractor tool, and tighten that down. This will pop the crank off. then remove the cups on bottom bracket to remove the bottom bracket from the shell. If this is the one piece cranks, you will need to first remove both pedals. Once completed, remove the left side locknut, bearing cup, and bearings. This will free up the ride side to be pulled through the bottom bracket shell. If you need further assistance or you have any more questions, please ask.
