Question
why is the 4-chambered heart called a " double pump"?

Answer
 Hi Elka
The 4 chambered heart works  with two different circulatory systems.  The right two chambers (right heart) controls pulmonary circulation(lungs) and the left heart the systemic circulation (rest of the body)  Incidentally it actually has a third system. the coronary circulation (the heart itself)
